Election Day is Aug. 16, 2022!
Most of Wyoming’s statewide and Legislative elections are decided in the primaries. But only 30 percent of Wyoming residents vote in these elections.
That means a small group of voters chooses the officials who make decisions for all of us.
This leaves us with legislators who can ignore the majority of Wyoming voters and still manage to stay in office.
We have the power to change this.
We can elect lawmakers who better represent the people of Wyoming.
Many primary elections for the Wyoming Legislature are decided by a handful of votes.
Your vote matters when you vote in the elections that count.

All you need to know to vote in August
Voting in Wyoming is easy. Here’s some info to make it even easier.
If you still have questions, contact your local county clerk’s office.
WHEN TO VOTE – KEY DATES
Wyoming Primary Election Day: Aug. 16.
Vote early at your County Clerk’s office or by mail: July 1 – Aug. 15.
WHAT TO BRING – NEW VOTER ID LAW
As of July 1, 2021: All Wyoming residents must present a photo ID to vote, register to vote, or change political affiliation.

HOW TO VOTE – IN PERSON OR ABSENTEE
In person
Vote early in person at your local County Clerk’s office or vote on Election Day at your local polling place or vote center.
If you do not know where your polling place is, contact your local County Clerk. Your normal polling place may have changed this year since voting districts were redrawn in 2022.
Absentee or by mail
Anyone can vote absentee in Wyoming and you can request an absentee ballot at any time, no questions asked. Your ballot will arrive by mail in early July. If you request a ballot after July 1, it will arrive about a week after you request it.
Drop your ballot off with your County Clerk before 7 p.m. on Aug. 16 (Election Day) or mail it by Aug. 9.
REGISTER TO VOTE – KEEP IT SIMPLE
The easiest way to register to vote is in person when you go to vote, either on Election Day or during early voting. Remember to bring your ID.
If you plan to vote absentee or by mail, you will need to register before you request your ballot and not less than 14 days before Election Day. Register to vote in advance at your local County Clerk’s office or contact your local County Clerk to learn how to register by mail.
CHOOSE THE ELECTION THAT COUNTS
Wyoming residents have the right to vote in whichever Primary Election they choose.
Voters can switch parties at the polls on the same day they vote in order to be eligible to vote in any party’s primary.
Just like registering to vote, if you plan to vote in person and need to change your affiliation, it’s easiest to do it on the same day you vote. Remember to bring your ID.
If you plan to vote absentee or by mail, you will need to change your affiliation before you request a ballot. Contact your local County Clerk to learn how to change your affiliation by mail.
