Esther O. Gonzales - Executive Director
Esther Gonzales is the executive director of Healthy Wyoming. She is a passionate leader dedicated to community development and health advocacy. With years of experience guiding customer-focused teams and driving market growth, she’s honed her skills in change management, business development, and strategic planning. At Healthy Wyoming, she brings together patient advocates, healthcare partners, business leaders, and community members to make the case for a healthier Wyoming through improved access to healthcare.
She graduated from Salem College with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and a minor in Organizational Theory. Her leadership journey was enriched by participating in the Leadership Cheyenne program, which deepened her understanding of local dynamics and personal growth. She also received a scholarship in Classical Piano at Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, Texas.
When she first arrived in Cheyenne, she joined the Downtown Development Authority of Cheyenne/Main Street Program. She had a blast managing design and promotion committees, launching fun events like Rock the Block, and helping new businesses settle in and thrive. It was all about making downtown Cheyenne a vibrant and welcoming place.
Before joining Healthy Wyoming, she served as the Director of Business Development & Relations at the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce, where she worked with various stakeholders to boost community initiatives and economic development. She also spent 20 years as a successful business owner, managing several companies.
Although born and raised in Texas, much of her life was spent in Winston Salem, NC, Wyoming, is now home. Her husband, Patrick Gonzales, a Wyoming native, and friend, Raith Bennalick, who served in the Wyoming Air National Guard, have been my rock and support system throughout this journey.
Every step of her career has been driven by a deep-rooted commitment to making a positive impact. Whether advocating for health initiatives or connecting with community members, her passion for helping others shines through. Join her and Healthy Wyoming as we create a healthier, more vibrant Wyoming. Together, we can make a difference.
