Micah Richardson speaks about how expanding Medicaid can help Wyoming live out its moniker as the Equality State:

We can all agree that one of the greatest barriers to self-sufficiency is medical debt. Closing the coverage gap reduces medical debt and bankruptcies, and diminishes evictions, food insecurity and poverty compared to non-expansion states. These are the kind of positive changes that we can bring to Wyoming, instilling hope for a brighter future.

There is a clear path toward self-sufficiency. With affordable and quality health care, more Wyoming women can maintain their health and do more than scrape together enough for rent and food. We want every Wyomingite to have enough left over to support local businesses and save for the future. It’s what we all deserve, and now is the perfect time to do something about it.

On this Women’s Equality Day, we should all agree that 2025 is the year that Wyoming takes a stand for women and families and join our neighboring states in closing the coverage gap.
